Talk Story on Farm Hand Coffee

An Ode to Farm Hand

Farm Hand Full City Coffee was one of the first coffees we released nearly 5 years ago when started sharing our roasted, 100% Kona Coffee from Monarch Coffee Farm. Where our award-winning Gesha Coffee celebrated innovation, the Farm Hand Coffee was crafted for consistency.

We created Farm Hand to be the coffee friend to all, striking the perfect balance that appeals to the tastes and preferences of all coffee drinkers. It has been brewed in coffee makers, French presses, and even an Aeropress and served up to coffee drinkers who only have their coffee black and to lovers of cream and copious amounts of sugar. We’ve shared it with teachers, our parents, and our awesome coffee friends. We have yet to find a coffee drinker who has not been won over by Farm Hand.

How It Started

Our Big Island coffee journey began in the scenic landscapes of Kona, Hawaii, where we envisioned creating something truly special. As we planted our small coffee farm, we faced the challenge of managing the daily heavy lifting required to prepare the land and nurture our coffee plants. That's when our first little orange tractor came into the picture – our very own Farm Hand.

This trusty orange tractor became an indispensable companion, tirelessly assisting us in unloading supplies, digging holes for coffee planting, moving heavy lava rocks, and even providing shade from the scorching Hawaiian sun by propping up umbrellas. The farm hand became an integral part of our early days, and we lovingly named our first Monarch Coffee Roasted Coffee label "Farm Hand " to honor its significant role.

The inspiration didn't stop there – the vibrant color of the tractor's orange hue also left a lasting impression on us. It sparked the idea for our unique branding, as we decided to infuse our packaging with the same captivating tractor-orange shade.

How it tastes

This washed, 100% Kona Typica is offered as a Full City Roast, meaning medium to dark. We end the roast just as the surface appears shiny and the beans are rich brown in color. We think that Farm Hand is all around “gateway” coffee with tasting notes of brown sugar, graham cracker, and chocolate.

After learning about the origins of Farm Hand Coffee and the passion behind our brand, we invite you to embark on this delightful coffee journey with us.
