Aloha! We are all so excited to be able to announce the 2024 dates of this one-of-a-kind experience at Monarch Coffee Farm. An idea that started as an in-origin coffee retreat for industry professionals turned Kona Coffee immersion experience for coffee professionals and enthusiasts alike. Retreat Activity Level
Most of each day has moderate activity with opportunities to increase or decrease your exertion as needed. 95% of activities are outside in the elements on uneven volcanic rock terrain. Farm hikes are under 2 miles - on gravel roads and uneven terrain. All hikes and activities are optional.
Intentions of Monarch Coffee Camp
This retreat offers you the chance to gain a greater understanding of the complex agricultural product coffee is, experience everyday life on a fully operating coffee farm, explore Hawaiian Culture, and enjoy the vast beauty that Hawaii Island has to offer. It is our goal to share our love for the island and our passion for curating award-winning coffees while illuminating areas of the coffee supply chain. This retreat IS NOT sponsored by an ASCA trainer.
Accommodations
You will be staying in our beautiful Caffinated Land Yacht. It is small, yet comfortable with some of the most breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. You'll find on-site accommodations to be comfortable and clean and will love the hospitality and aesthetics that come with it.
All meals served on the farm are included and prepared on the farm. While we do our best to accommodate the nutritional needs of all of our guests, extreme food allergy requests may be difficult for us to fulfill. There is a full kitchen in our tinyhouse.
Weather
The average high in Hawaii is 85F, and the average low is 65F. Average rainfall can be up to as much as 2-3 inches a day. You can expect warm, sunny weather with moderate humidity and rain most afternoons.
Considerations While Packing
It can be hot and humid (making shorts a common choice) but lightweight long pants are a better option when on the farm to protect you from mosquitos. We want you to be comfortable.
A layered clothing system for warm/hot/sunny days and cooler evenings/nights or for wet/cloudy days is highly recommended.
Closed-toe shoes, that offer some water resistance.

$500 to $1000 is usually more than enough money for souvenirs, extra food, drinks, etc.
Travel Insurance
While we do not anticipate injuries, it is best to be prepared. Check with your insurance regarding your coverage. If needed, travel insurance is relatively cheap and can often be purchased through one of the large US insurance providers.
