  • Monarch Coffee is a specialty coffee farm growing Gesha and Pacamara varietals in Holuloa, Hawaii - along the Historic Kona Coffee corridor. We are a coffee producer and roaster sharing our award-winning coffee with coffee enthusiasts around the world.

    Our farm is a place where coffee lovers and enthusiasts come to experience the magic of coffee from seed to cup. We are currently seeking a hospitable and knowledgeable Coffee Farm Tour Guide to join our team and share their love of coffee with our guests.

    About the role

    As a Monarch Coffee Farm Tour Guide you’ll be on the frontline of our business operations. You will lead and educate visitors on the history, cultivation, and production of coffee while providing an engaging and memorable experience for all. You will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and passion for coffee and interact with guests from all over the world.

    We expect all guest ambassadors to:

    Develop a deep understanding and breadth of knowledge of all our offerings (coffee, tours, experiences, and others).

    Develop an understanding of coffee regions, processes, brew types, etc.

    Be able to execute all our beverage offerings to our standard of quality.

    Follow all brew recipes and procedures.

    Be able to dial in coffee on the brew bar

    Customer service

    Greet, welcome, and provide exceptional service to every guest.

    Be able to educate guests on our offerings and coffee in general.

    Be eager to care for customer needs.

    Work Environment

    Keep stations clean and organized.

    Keep seating areas clean and organized.

    Be eager to help with prep, dishwashing, order fulfillment, and stocking shelves.

This a unique, hands-on opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of coffee farming, from planting to harvesting, processing, and roasting to brewing. The internship will take place on our beautiful farm located on the Big Island of Hawaii, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

    As a Coffee Farm Intern, you will work closely with our experienced team and learn the skills and techniques required for growing specialty coffee. You will have the opportunity to participate in daily farm activities, such as pruning, weeding, planting, and harvesting coffee beans.

    In addition to farm work, you will also have the chance to learn about coffee processing, roasting, and cupping. You will work alongside our roasting team and gain knowledge in the art of coffee roasting. You will also have the opportunity to taste and evaluate roasted coffee through cupping sessions, where you will learn about the different flavor profiles of coffee beans.

    As a Coffee Farm Intern, you will:

    * Participate in daily farm activities, such as pruning, weeding, planting, and harvesting coffee beans.

    * Learn about coffee processing, roasting, and cupping.

    * Work alongside our experienced team of farmers and roasters.

  • Monarch Coffee Farms, a leading specialty coffee producer in Hawaii, is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as our Ohana Retail Market Manager and Guest Ambassador.

    In this role, you are the first person most customers meet, and act as an ambassador for Monarch Coffee. You are a manifestation of the excellence of Monarch Coffee and will provide solutions for customers, handle any complaints, and embody hospitality in everything you do.

    As the ohana market retail manager and guest ambassador, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our on-site farm Ohana Market (coffee retail store), including overseeing sales, guest service, and inventory management. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the retail store.

    In addition to your role as Guest Ambassador, you will also be responsible for leading educational farm tours for visitors to our coffee farm. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering engaging and informative presentations about the coffee production, roasting, and brewing processes as well as leading small groups on guided tours of the farm.

    Responsibilities:

    Manage the daily operations of the coffee retail store, including sales, guest service, and inventory management

    Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the store

    Lead dynamic educational farm tours for guests

    Preparing and delivering brewing presentations

    Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests

    Assist with E-commerce order fulfillment

    Restock coffee retail store inventory

    Create a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere in the Ohana

    Qualifications:

    2+ years of experience in retail management or a related field

    Excellent customer service and communication skills

    Strong leadership abilities

    Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment

    Knowledge of coffee roasting and brewing (preferred)

    Knowledge of coffee production and the coffee industry (preferred)

    Fluency in English and Spanish (preferred).

    About the role

    As a Monarch Coffee Guest Ambassador, you’ll be on the frontlines of our farm Ohana retail market business operations. We expect all our guest ambassadors to:

    Develop a deep understanding and knowledge of all our farm-to-cup offerings (farming practices, varieties grown, coffee processing, farm experiences).

    Develop an understanding of Kona Coffee, coffee varieties, processing methods, roast styles, brew types, etc.

    Be able to execute all our beverage offerings to the highest standard of quality.

    Be able to dial in grind size and coffee on the brew bar and possibly espresso in the future.
